Sweet Fix (Triptych) Featured in New Article: On Ephemerality and Meaning

I am thrilled to announce that my new installation, Sweet Fix (Triptych), has been featured in an article by Lillian Liao, titled “Avery Lake’s Sweet Fix – A reflection on ephemerality.

Published today (November 25, 2025), the piece explores the themes central to the installation: the fleeting nature of pleasure, the duality of the holiday season, and the necessary human agency to create meaning in an age where technology can readily replicate creativity.

As the article notes, Sweet Fix is about asking: “What does it mean to enjoy something now that we know will dissolve?” The work uses the visual metaphor of the dissolving lollipop, paired with a participatory element, to encourage viewers to be intensely present, both with the art and the moment itself.
